Built on a plateau that enjoys plenty of sunshine, Sestriere is a modern holiday resort, ideal for lovers of all mountain-related sports. Located in the centre of the Via Lattea ski area, it offers visitors over 400km of pistes, 66 modern skilifts and a very efficient artificial snow system (around 950 snow cannons). You can even take a little trip to France as the resort of Montgenevre is part of this collective area. Sestriere pistes are for skiers of all levels, for first-time and competition skiers, for snowboarding and carving fanatics and also old telemark lovers… Sestriere hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships in 1997 and was also the host-town for the Turin 2006 Olympic Games. The Via Lattea area gives access to the skilifts and runs specially designed for these Olympic Games. The Susa Valley is also a paradise for other types of skiing, off-piste skiing, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing (8 kilometers of pistes for Nordic skiers). Whatever type of skiing you enjoy, you’ll find ski equipment to suit your needs in Sestriere.
